Position: Educational Assistant (Part Time)

Location: St. John’s, Michigan

Schedule: Up to 25 hours per week, with scheduling flexibility based on the employee’s availability.

Our IQhub is hiring a part time Educational Assistant to join the IQhub team and help bring our museum to life through engaging exhibits and hands on educational events. You will support interactive learning experiences that teach visitors of all ages, with a primary focus on ages 8 to 12, about agriculture and the environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being on their feet, working with people, and helping create memorable learning moments in a fast paced, team focused environment. You will use good judgment and your experience to help plan, coordinate, and complete a variety of daily tasks under general supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support educational group tours and functions, including: {1}
  • Serving as a backup educator for leading groups/field trips and supervising activities
  • Preparation and setup of classroom and activity spaces
  • Maintaining inventory and ordering classroom supplies
• Serve as a guide and facilitator for walk-in guests at IQhub and Kids Korner. {2}
• Assist with exhibit and space management, including: {3}
  • Organizing and executing special/guest exhibits and events
  • Monitoring and maintaining permanent exhibits to ensure proper operation
• Assist with maintaining and updating social media content (Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms). {4}
• Promote and participate in IQhub special projects, internal events, and community outreach initiatives. {5}
• Provide support with recruiting, scheduling, confirming and follow-up for visiting groups.
• Perform general office administration, housekeeping, light maintenance, and customer service duties. Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for self, staff and visitors.
• Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and protocols at all times.
• Complete additional duties as assigned by management.

What we’re looking for:

• Degree or equivalent experience in Ag Education or Education
• Excellent communication skills; written, verbal and presentation
• Outstanding attitude
• Customer service & relationship management experience
• Proficient computer skills
• Time management & self-motivation
• Flexible Schedule (up to 25 hours per week, some evenings and weekends)
• Ability to stand; sit; lift, squat, stoop and/or move over 50 lbs.
