Rate: $40 per hour, 10-15 hours per week ($31,200 maximum per year)
Overview: SAMS is seeking a proactive and organized Fundraising Events Officer to join our team. This part-time contract role will focus on securing and coordinating fundraising event opportunities, with an emphasis on the end of year and Ramadan fundraising campaigns. The role reports to the Director of Communications and requires close collaboration with the media and partnerships teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Coordination: Secure and schedule fundraising events at community venues, particularly mosques, community centers, and other strategic locations.
- End of Year and Ramadan Fundraising: Focus efforts on securing event opportunities and partnerships that maximize fundraising outcomes during these high-impact periods.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain relationships with event organizers, community leaders, and potential partners to facilitate successful fundraising events.
- Event Planning Support: Assist in the logistics and planning of events, including coordinating event materials, speakers, and promotional efforts in collaboration with the communications team.
- Tracking and Reporting: Maintain records of event details, contacts, and outcomes, and provide regular updates to the Director of Communications on progress and opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in event planning, fundraising, or nonprofit development, with a focus on community engagement and outreach.
- Skills: Strong organizational and project management skills; excellent communication and relationship-building abilities; familiarity with community fundraising, especially within Muslim communities, is preferred.
- Availability: Ability to work 10-15 hours per week, with some flexibility for evening or weekend events as needed.
