JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Two education and advocacy assistant positions are open, each for 10-20 hours/week from mid-May to mid-August 2024 in the College of Health and Human Development to assist the leadership team of the Improving Access through Research and Training (IMPACT) Program. The education and advocacy assistants will be responsible for: developing new and updating existing educational materials and program planning, coordinating the summer’s professional development workshops, organizing other enrichment activities, and supporting the summer scholars in their mentored research activities in June and July. Graduate students in the educational and health sciences are encouraged to apply.
IMPACT is an NHLBI-funded program grant to provide 8 weeks of mentored research opportunities and professional development workshops to highly qualified upper-level undergraduate students who are interested in graduate school and who come from backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in the biomedical sciences. Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
