Part-Time Intern

Friends of Urban Agriculture (FOUA) is seeking a part-time intern for a 22 week period to begin in mid-January, 2025. FOUA’s mission is to build a resilient, community-driven urban agriculture sector that provides a fair, healthy, sustainable food system for all Arlingtonians. We are excited to grow and are looking for an energetic, responsible intern to join our growing organization. In this role, you will assist FOUA’s Board of Directors in organizing documents, craft social media and other web content, help plan events like the Spring Garden Kickoff and Garden Talks, and help our volunteer Plot Against Hunger gardens get ready for the 2025 growing season.

Necessary skills:

• Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with Google Suite
• Comfort writing content for the FOUA web site and social media, including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
• Familiarity with online communications tools such as Zoom, MailChimp, and various event planning tools
• Self-directed and able to work without supervision

• Some experience with food, urban agriculture, gardening, food security, or volunteering

This internship is expected to be 10 hours per week, $20/hour, and will conclude by June 30, 2025.
