We are looking for an Outside Customer Service Specialist to join our team and provide excellent customer service for the IU Pfau Golf Course. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks with the outside operation of the golf course. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and is looking to develop their customer service skills.

  • Greets customers and provide assistance with their inquiries.
  • Removes golf bags from cars and transport them to the golf carts and bag racks.
  • Provides players with thoroughly cleaned carts that operate flawlessly.
  • Stocks each cart with scorecards, pencils, and divot sand.
  • Ensures that proper cart rotation is followed.
  • Ensures that the cart barn is always clean and orderly.
  • Services the practice range.
  • Sets up the range for play.
  • Continually replenishes the supply of practice balls.
  • Greets and starts players on the first tee explaining the rules of play for the day and any other pertinent information.
  • Maintains an accurate starting sheet so the whereabouts of players are known.


Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education. 

 

EDUCATION

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)

WORK EXPERIENCE

Preferred

  • Golf course experience

SKILLS

Required

  • Strong customer relation skills
  • Ability to handle, lift, and carry up to 75 pounds for up to 75 yards
  • Ability to communicate clearly in a pleasant and professional manner
  • Requires employee to safely operate a gas and/or electric cart

Preferred

  • Ability to work well with people
  • Knowledge of golf rules and etiquette


This positions required the ability to move objects weighing up to 75 pounds. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.  


$13.00 per hour


Hours arranged between 6:00 AM – 10:00 PM, including week nights and weekends

Up to 29 hours per week
