Columbus State University has an opening for a part-time Testing Assistant in the CSU Center for Accommodation and Access. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the testing process for identified students with disabilities through the administration and active proctoring of exams. This position reports directly to the Director of the Center for Accommodation and Access, but may receive instruction from other office and division members. This position will routinely interact with students and faculty/staff. This position will primarily work the hours of 4:00pm-8:00pm, Monday ¿ Thursday.


Prepare workstations for testing; admit test takers and verify identity;explain testing procedures; continuous monitoring of test taker behavior via walkthroughs, audio/video surveillance, and screen management software; conclude tests;clean workstations; answer phones and assist public by providing general information by telephone or in person and assist with ongoing filing and awareness projects as well as greet visitors, ascertains nature of business and refer them to the appropriate person.


High school diploma or GED equivalent; successful completion of at least 2 years or 60 credit hours of post-secondary education; and at least two years of relevant work experience.

Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor¿s degree and/or experience in post-secondary enrollment services,student services, or academic affairs is highly desirable.

Skills required are attention to detail; accuracy; organization; ability to interpret detailed instructions; ability to follow and implement rules and regulations; excellent customer service; excellent verbal and written communication; ability to multitask; ability to prioritize work assignments; ability to work independently; ability to project a calm demeanor; and maintain confidentiality of tests and test takers.The candidate must be aware that the work is non-routine and self-directed.The candidate must have experience using Microsoft Office and Internet browsers.
