Background
The UNV Regional Offices provide oversight and strategic guidance to the UNV Field Units in their respective geographical assignments and are mainly accountable for the placement of UN Volunteers mobilized for UN Agencies, Funds and Programmes focused on peace, development, and humanitarian needs. Furthermore, the Regional Offices represent, and strategically position, UNV and bring UNV’s services and solutions closer to its partners from governments, UN entities, civil society and private sector. The Regional Offices also support the promotion of volunteerism as per the UNV Strategic Framework.
Reporting to the Regional Portfolio Manager and being part of the Regional Office partnership team, the Partnerships Analyst is responsible for managing, strengthening and expanding volunteers’ mobilization and partnership building initiatives mainly with UN agencies and Governments, and provides partners’ coordination support to the UNV Field Units and non-Field Units countries in the region.
In this role, the Partnerships Analyst will support the Regional Office in the identification of UN Volunteers’ mobilization opportunities and resource mobilization, including the identification of potential Full Funding and Special Voluntary Fund (SVF) partners. She/he will initiate the development of special programme initiatives and coordinate their implementations, ensure UNV engagement with UN entities at the Regional level and in non-Field Unit countries through advocacy and partnership building, and support their engagements at the country level in coordination with the UNV Field Units. She/he will collaborate with portfolio specialists, communication team, Online Volunteers’ Associate, RBM and Talent Acquisition staffs to strengthen UNV Programme collaboration with key stakeholders and throughout the UN System.
UNV adopts a portfolio approach to accommodate changing business needs and leverage linkages across interventions to achieve its strategic goals. Therefore, UNV personnel are expected to work across units, functions, teams, and projects in multidisciplinary teams in order to enhance and enable horizontal collaboration.
