The Sudan Regional Response Pooled Fund (SRRPF) is a multi-donor funded initiative by the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) designed to address the acute deprivation caused by Sudan’s complex, regional, and cyclical crises. Set to be launched on January 1, 2025, the SRRPF combines immediate relief with long-term resilience-building, addressing the full spectrum of community needs in Sudan and neighboring countries. The fund will prioritise locally-led and conflict-sensitive approaches, ensuring that the most capable actors deliver impactful responses to the region’s evolving humanitarian challenges. The following position is contingent on funding.
Overall purpose of the role:
The Grants and Partnerships Manager plays a key role in ensuring effective and efficient grants management, compliance, and partnership coordination for the Sudan Regional Response Pooled Fund (SRRPF). This position oversees the grants lifecycle, provides guidance to partners, and ensures compliance with donor regulations and SRRPF standards.
Responsibilities :
The Partnership and Grants Manager will
- Develop and manage grant application processes, including guidelines, templates, and evaluation criteria.
- Lead the due diligence and vetting process for partner organisations, ensuring compliance with donor and SRRPF standards.
- Prepare and administer grant agreements and amendments in coordination with the Fund Management Unit at HQ.
- Provide capacity-building support to partners on grants management, compliance, and reporting.
- Oversee the development and roll-out of the SRRPF Grant Management System (GMS).
- Ensure partners comply with grant conditions, SRRPF Operations Manual, and donor requirements.
- Update and maintain the SRRPF risk register and dashboard, addressing high-risk areas.
- Monitor grant implementation, ensuring timely and quality submission of financial and narrative reports.
- Support partners in developing procurement plans, risk registers, capacity-building strategies, and staffing plans.
- Provide training on grant report writing, donor compliance, and operational procedures.
- Ensure all grant-related documents are appropriately uploaded and backed up in the GMS or other systems.
- Maintain detailed records of grants, including applications, reports, and feedback letters.
- Coordinate review meetings with partners and follow up on action points.
- Liaise with donor representatives to ensure compliance and alignment with funding objectives.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) teams, to ensure robust oversight of projects.
Experience and Technical competencies (included year of experience)
Mandatory:
- University degree in international development, business administration, political science, or a related field.
- Certifications in grants or partnership management are an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in grants management within the NGO/INGO or donor sectors.
- Proven expertise working with institutional donors (e.g., FCDO, EU, ECHO, USAID, UNHCR).
- Strong understanding of donor regulations and compliance.
- Ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines, and adapt to complex environments.
Desirable:
- Experience working with Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems.
- Familiarity with Power Apps or internal grants systems development.
- Previous experience in partnership management or capacity building.
