The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral development bank whose mission is financing the Infrastructure for Tomorrow—infrastructure with sustainability at its core. As part of the Vice Presidency, Policy and Strategy, the Operational Partnership Department (OPD) is responsible for managing and coordinating the operational partnerships between AIIB and relevant multilateral organizations, fora and stakeholders, administering the Bank’s Special Fund resources including performing the role of Implementing Partner of selected partnership facilities, as well as managing the Bank’s engagement with regional co-ordination mechanisms, with the objective of building relationships that can mobilize additional effort and resources for AIIB’s investment operations.
The Institutional Engagement and Cooperation (IE&C) Team under the OPD is in charge of leading overall relationship management and strategic alignment with sovereign and non-sovereign partners through a range of partnership instruments, engagement with key global and regional fora, and originating and managing technical partnerships with a focus on supporting the Bank’s operations under its thematic priorities.
The OPD IE&C Team is seeking a short-term consultant writer/editor. The selected candidate will support the conceptualizing, writing, and editing of OPD’s partnership-related publication in English, as well as provide coordination support with internal and external stakeholders. The assignment is for 120 working days spread out from August, 2024 to March, 2025 (dates to be adjusted depending on date of onboarding).
• In collaboration with subject matter experts across AIIB, conceptualize, research, draft, and/or edit AIIB’s partnership and project stories for AIIB Partnership Report, website articles, speeches, announcements, publications and other materials, or other documents intended for print and online dissemination. The drafting and editing work may require some additional research, coordination, and interview process in consultation with the authors/relevant departments within the Bank and external partners.
• Create charts, tables, or graphs as necessary to visualize AIIB’s partnership work in publications, using the Microsoft Office suites or other software.
• Ensure all written work is authentic, original and appropriately cited and/or referenced.
• Support coordination and follow-up between OPD and relevant departments within the Bank and other external partners for partnership-related documents and materials.
• Review and proofread documents in English as needed.
• Support any other writing tasks, as required.
• Perform such other duties as may be assigned by OPD.

• The Consultant can be either onsite or work fully remotely.
• If working remotely, the Consultant should be responsible for their own equipment and ensure availability for any virtual meetings.
The Consultant will be supervised by Senior Partnership Officer or Partnership Officer and overall guidance of the Director General, Operational Partnership Department. The Consultant will work in close collaboration with relevant business units, project team leaders, and external vendors.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Communications, Journalism, International Relations, public policy or related fields from a reputable university.
• Proven professional experience of at least 5 years writing and content development for international organizations or media.
• Proven professional experience of at least 3 to 5 years editing and producing corporate products or media campaigns.
• Experience producing and publishing and marketing publications, both digital and print.
• Familiarity with data visualization (creating charts, tables, and graphs).
• Strong research and excellent writing skills in English.
• Understanding of AIIB and development issues; familiarity with the work of multilateral development banks.
• Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate and work with diverse people.
• Preference may be given to candidates who can be onsite for performing duties.
