About the organization:

Al Sham Humanitarian Foundation (AHF) is a non-profit organization that provides projects and humanitarian services to the Syrian community, capable of spreading and reaching those who deserve it, with credibility, efficiency and effective partnership.

Objective of the job:

This job is concerned with working to raise the status of the association and its position among international institutions working in the humanitarian field, through developing and implementing policies, plans and activities (within the framework of the general directions and policies of the association) aimed at developing and developing joint relations between the association and local and international governmental and non-governmental organizations.
He/She also plays a crucial role in institutional development, which is defined as: a process with a systematic strategic plan that aims to increase the company’s efficiency, raise work productivity and ensure the self-development of employees, by measuring performance indicators and self-evaluation activities, ensuring the achievement of strategic objectives to reach a culture of excellence.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Develops strategic plans and policies that aim to raise the status of the association and highlight its role among international institutions and organizations interested in and working in the field of humanitarian work, in accordance with the general strategies of the association, taking into account the directions and policies of the country in which the association operates.
• It is keen to build new partnerships with all actors and stakeholders in humanitarian work in a way that serves the association’s goals and policies and enhances its position within the humanitarian work system.
• Enhancing the association’s mission and reputation from an organizational standpoint by implementing the association’s approved quality systems and standards and giving it an administrative character characterized by quality output.

• Ensuring that the strategic plan is shared with the association’s employees and that the values, vision, mission and goals of the association are disseminated and emphasized on an ongoing basis.
• Working to manage and develop the institutional reputation and mental image among stakeholders and interested parties.
• Develop policies and procedures in coordination and cooperation with relevant departments and units.
• It works to open channels of communication with international institutions and organizations by holding and attending conferences and meetings that they hold in the field of humanitarian work inside and outside the country.
• It works to organize international conferences on behalf of the association or organize visits and bilateral meetings with figures and official officials interested in humanitarian work with the aim of raising the level of humanitarian work at the association level in particular and the general level.

• Proposes concluding agreements, protocols, and memorandums of understanding with international institutions, follows up on their approval, and works to implement them.
• It is a system for exchanging information, reports, studies, research, and conference recommendations between the association and international organizations.
• Searches for renewable funding opportunities with various agencies working in humanitarian affairs by presenting the association’s projects, knowing the priorities and interests of those agencies, and ensuring the transfer of these opportunities from coordination to implementation in coordination with the specialized departments.
• It works to fill the gaps that constitute an obstacle to obtaining grants
• Coordinating with other departments to raise capabilities and advance the work of cadres to comply with the nature of the interests of funders in obtaining grants, provided that this does not conflict with the priorities of field needs and the vision of the association.

• Performs any other tasks assigned by the Executive Director in his field of specialization.

Communication levels:

The Executive Director, all departments and units of the Association, donors, partners, international organizations, other humanitarian institutions, government institutions and ministries.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in public and international relations or an equivalent specialized professional certificate.

Required experiences:

• At least three years of experience in the field of supervisory and administrative work.
• At least seven years of experience in the field of partnerships and institutional development.
• At least five years of experience in the field of humanitarian work.

Required skills, abilities, and competencies:

• The ability to lead, direct, coordinate, follow up, initiate and develop.
• The ability to analyze and devise solutions to problems.
• Ability to communicate, negotiate, plan and organize.
• Proficiency in Arabic and English, speaking and writing at a good level.
• Proficiency in dealing with computers and various office programs at an excellent level.
