Under the guidance of the Partnerships Specialist, the Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Analyst will craft a strategic framework for corporate engagement, fostering enduring alliances, harnessing corporate influence, and advocating for gender parity. Working closely with the program and operations team, as well as personnel from UN Women HQ, government entities, bilateral and multilateral donors, and civil society, the Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Analyst ensures the effective implementation of UN Women’s initiatives within their portfolio.   

Duties and Responsibilities:

Resource Mobilization:

  • Develop and execute strategies to mobilize resources effectively, including identifying funding opportunities, cultivating donor relationships, and securing financial support from both traditional donors and private sector entities.
  • Analyse funding trends and private sector priorities to tailor resource mobilization efforts accordingly.
  • Track and evaluate resource mobilization activities to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

Risk Assessment:

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities in donor relationships, private sector engagements, and resource mobilization efforts.
  • Develop risk management strategies and mitigation plans to address identified risks and minimize their impact on fundraising activities and private sector partnerships.
  • Monitor and reassess risks regularly to proactively manage potential challenges and maintain the integrity of donor relationships and private sector engagements.

Donor Management and Communications:

  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with both traditional donors and private sector partners to provide regular updates on organizational activities, impact, and financial stewardship.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with donors and private sector partners through personalized communication, acknowledging their contributions, and addressing their concerns or inquiries promptly.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent and cohesive messaging in donor communications and private sector engagements, reflecting organizational values and priorities.

Donor Engagement Strategy:

  • Develop and implement strategic donor engagement plans to deepen relationships, enhance donor loyalty, and maximize philanthropic support from both traditional donors and private sector entities.
  • Utilize data and analytics to segment donors and private sector partners and tailor engagement strategies based on their preferences, interests, and giving/investment capacity.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of donor engagement initiatives and private sector engagement strategies, adjusting them as needed to optimize donor and private sector partner satisfaction and retention.

Private Sector Engagement Strategy:

  • Develop a comprehensive strategy to engage with private sector entities, including corporations, foundations, and businesses, to foster partnerships and collaboration in support of organizational goals.
  • Identify opportunities for private sector involvement in programmatic initiatives, resource mobilization efforts, and advocacy campaigns, aligning with the organization’s mission and objectives.
  • Establish clear objectives, targets, and metrics to measure the impact of private sector engagement activities and track progress towards goals.
  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders in the private sector, leveraging networks and connections to expand partnership opportunities and maximize mutual benefit.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Timely and quality implementation of Programme/Portfolio/ activities against set workplans, timelines, and budgets, in line with the Strategic Note
  • Quality and timely reporting
  • Strong relations with partners and stakeholders
  • Regular and timely monitoring of activities 
  • Enhanced best practices and lessons learned documented and circulated

Required Skills and Experience:

Education:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Business Management, social sciences, human rights, gender/women’s studies, or a related field is required.
  • A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • A project/programme management certification would be an added advantage.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of progressively responsible work experience in resource mobilisation, strategy development, proposal writing, presentation development, working on a cross-functional role, donor reporting and database management is required.
  • Experience in proposal writing and communications is desirable.
  • Experience coordinating and liaising with government agencies and/or donors is desirable.
  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling web-based management systems is required.
  • Experience in the use of a modern web-based ERP System, preferably Oracle Cloud, is desirable.

Language Requirements:

  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language is desirable.
