Education Cannot Wait (ECW) is a fund dedicated to education in emergencies and protracted crises. It was established in 2016 during the World Humanitarian Summit by international humanitarian and development aid organizations, along with public and private donors, to help reposition education as a priority on the humanitarian agenda, usher in a more collaborative approach among actors on the ground and foster additional funding to ensure that every crisis-affected child and young person is in school and learning. The functions of Partnership, Advocacy and fundraising are core to the sustainability of ECW. The advertised position seeks to bring on board a consultant that can support the partnership team systemize and professionalize critical aspects of the team’s work as the fund evolves.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- Advanced university degree in Political Economy, Political Science, International Relations, International Development, Administration, Economics, Communication or other relevant fields.
- A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
- A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience across advocacy, the non-governmental sector, politics, government relations or education, of which at least three years involved donor engagement in the global education sector.
- A comprehensive understanding of the ECW operating model, governance structure and key donors are required.
- Prior experience working on financial replenishments and undertaking donor engagement relating to global education funds is required.
- Track record managing relationships with high-level donor officials as well as developing and implementing donor engagement strategies is required.
- Experienced in teamwork, excellent communications skills with a diverse group of partners, and problem-solving abilities is required.
- A proven experience in grants and project management is an asset.
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
