UN Azerbaijan strengthens and expands its strategic partnerships for SDG achievement

Duties and Responsibilities
1.Support joint UNCT strategic partnership for SDG achievement and resource mobilization for the UN Azerbaijan Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (2021-2025). 2.Work closely with the Resident Coordinator and the Head of RCO to support development partners’ coordination mechanism in Azerbaijan. 3.Work closely with the RCO Economist and other UN Country Team development finance experts to promote partnerships initiatives in support of financing for accelerating the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4.Work closely with the Resident Coordinator and the Head of RCO to support the implementation of the joint UNCT engagement strategy for COP29, development of partnership strategy and engagement of relevant counterparts, including the COP29 Presidency team, private sector, civil society, and other local and international partners. 5.Provide support to the Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment High-Level Advocacy Group (GEWE-HLAG), as well as to the technical group of the GEWE-HLAG. 6. Act as a secretariat to the Gender Thematic Group (GTG) in support of UN Women as the GTG Chair in 2024, to develop and implement GTG workplan for 2024 including activities related to COP29
Qualifications/special skills
Minimum first level degree certificate is required. Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent degree) in business or public administration, sustainable development, social sciences, or related area is desirable. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience and track record in project/ programme management in the context of development cooperation or related area in Azerbaijan is required Experience in preparing project/programme proposals is required. Experience in developing and/or implementing partnership and resources mobilization strategies is required. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) are required
Languages
Fluency in English and Azerbaijani is required. Knowledge of another UN language is an asset.
