Mission and objectives

UNICEF was established in 1946 to supply emergency relief to millions of children suffering in the aftermath of World War II. The organization still functions to ease the suffering of millions of children in emergency situations across the world. UNICEF also focuses on the protection and promotion of child rights, working for the survival, protection, education and healthy development of every child.
UNICEF has worked in Jordan since 1952 to promote and protect the rights of children. In the following decades, significant progress has been achieved for children. Since the beginning of the Syrian crisis in 2013, UNICEF has significantly increased its operation to respond to the challenges faced by both refugee children and those in the communities where they live.
Building on the lessons learned from this emergency response, UNICEF Jordan moved to a vulnerability approach in 2018 – supporting interventions that target the most vulnerable children in the country, regardless of their nationality.

Context

The assigned Partnerships Officer will be located within the Partnerships and Resource Mobilization team, responsible for supporting the fundraising and partnership efforts of the UNICEF Syria Country Office through UNICEF MENARO office in Amman. The assigned UN Volunteer will be responsible for contributing to the transition to UNISON; a new resource mobilization and information management system, and to donor partnership engagement efforts, particularly in support of donor submissions (such as reports, amendments, or proposals).
International UN Volunteers are entitled to:
• Monthly Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) at the amount of USD 2,507.69 (subject to change in monthly Post Adjustment Modifier).

Task description

Under the direct supervision of the UNICEF Syria Partnerships Manager, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
• Fundraising systems administration and maintenance:
Administer, monitor, and strive to improve UNISON and other partnership and contribution management systems, processes, and information in line with agreed standards; this might include establishment and administration of
new grants, building donor profile and contact information, donor submissions, and other fundraising guidelines
• Support to donor submissions and engagement:
Support the timeliness and quality of all donor submissions, such as donor reports, amendments, and proposals, by consolidation and editing of programmatic, financial and narrative information, ensuring high-quality layout and branding, compliance with donor requirements and results-based management tools; as well as support to donor intelligence gathering, recognition and engagement, including donor visits and related visibility activities.
Expected Outputs:
• UNISON (organisation-wide CRM system using Salesforce platform) fully established, advanced and administered efficiently within UNICEF Syria office
• Other partnership, pipeline and grant management/information systems updated and ad-ministered
• Donor engagement briefs or consultations and intelligence supported and developed
• Donor submissions consolidated and reviewed
