Program:

Djerriwarrh delivers a range of accredited training including the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) funded by the Department of Home Affairs and Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program funded by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations.

The EAL programs/courses assist participants develop settlement and language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills, with the expectation that such improvements will enable them to participate more effectively in the Australian community, further training or employment.

Role:

The Djerriwarrh Pathways Guidance Officer will work collaboratively with the AMEP & SEE Administration Coordinator, Team Leaders, Teachers and Manager to grow student pathways that support their educational, vocational, and post AMEP goals as well as their settlement needs.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Capacity to plan and deliver educational and vocational pathway counselling.
  • Demonstrated success in developing a range of stakeholder relationships relevant to support student pathway and settlement needs.
  • Knowledge and experience in adult education programs.
  • High level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, working with a range of stakeholders and newly arrived clients of CALD backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet set timeframes.
  • Strong organisational and ICT skills.
