Position Summary: 

The Patient Transport Manager applies managerial skills and expertise to achieve organizational objectives through the management of daily operations, overseeing supervisors, and coordinating staff achievements.  This position  plays a crucial role in the oversight of equipment pool operations. Incumbent is responsible for patient billing, back-ups using MEMS system, inventory control, and records maintenance.  The Manager will coordinate staffing, implement protocols and processes for patient transportation and lifting, manage equipment maintenance and repairs, analyze and report throughput metrics and data, and promote a culture of patient safety and care. The incumbent is instrumental in maintaining high quality standards, optimizing workflow, and enhancing the overall patient experience, working closely with clinical staff to meet patient needs.  Ensures effective leadership to the team, including recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and ongoing professional coaching and development. Establishes clear goals and expectations and promotes a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and accountability.  Participates on various hospital-wide projects and quality improvement initiatives, prepares comprehensive reports and presentations on transport and lift operations, highlighting key performance indicators, trends, and recommendations for improvement and develops training programs and educational materials for staff.

Salary Range: 

 

Annual Rate  Minimum  $61,100.00                           Midpoint  $84,100.00                           Maximum              $107,100.00

 

Required Qualifications:

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System in order to influence and/or advocate for key initiatives

Strong interpersonal skills

Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties

Demonstrated ability to lead change and effectively manage conflict

BLS certification upon hire

Bachelor’s degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Minimum of 2 years prior supervisory/leadership experience, managing projects, providing guidance and motivating others

Knowledge of relevant medical center, Human Resources, and UC policies and processes.  Knowledge of relevant accreditation standards and external regulations

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills to effectively communicate with statt and management across the organization and present complex information to diverse audiences

Proven problem solving, critical thinking, and strategic planning skills to evaluate complex issues, identify problems and options, and determine and implement appropriate, effective solutions.  Demonstrates sound judgment.

Proven analytical skills to collect, organize, and analyze complex data

Demonstrated leadership in a healthcare setting

Excellent knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Minimum of 5 years of work experience in a healthcare setting

Demonstrated experience with budgetary processes

Established ability to organize operations in an efficient and effective manner through improving processes, procedures, and systems

Skills to collaborate within and across departments / locations to integrate / coordinate daily activities and resolve problems.

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job

 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Master’s Degree in Related Field
