Job Description

AECOM is seeking applications for many roles to grow our Pavement and Aviation Engineering team in Melbourne to support existing projects and pursue the exciting opportunities ahead.

You will have 5+ years of experience in the delivery of road and aviation projects, be experienced in pavement asset management, producing tender documentation, and construction support.

You will have the opportunity to work on major road projects /capital city airports across Australia and New Zealand, and you will be supported by a network of skilled and passionate professionals across the world.

Pavement Engineer – What will a day in this role look like:

  • Technical management of pavement and aviation projects and management of interfaces with other disciplines

  • Strong knowledge of national pavement design standards, materials, delivery procedures, and local industry context

  • Understanding of consulting business, project delivery, and ability to produce design documentation such as design reports, technical specifications, drawings at concept, preliminary, detailed, and issued-for-construction design phases

  • Review technical documentation and provide mentoring to younger engineers

  • Review and interpretation of non-destructive pavement testing with Falling or Heavy Weight Deflectometer, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), Light Weight Deflectometer (LWD), surface friction testing, and surface profiler testing

Aviation Engineer – What will a day in this role look like:

  • Providing technical aviation engineering input across the project life-cycle from inception to completion.

  • Working as part of energetic and committed team to produce high-quality and timely outputs that meet client expectations and project objectives

  • Collaborating with industry leading technical professionals and people managers to help you perform, develop and achieve your career ambitions.

Qualifications

What are we looking for from you?

  • Experienced Pavement/Aviation/Airfield Engineer specialising in pavements or airfield infrastructure projects, ideally RPEV qualified (or working towards), ideally with 5+ years experience

  • You enjoy working in teams and aspire to leadership roles based on your specialist knowledge as part of multi-disciplinary teams or managing relevant projects outright.

  • Experience in Construction Management and/or Design Management.

  • An eligibility for Australian Defence Security Clearance is preferred, but not essential.

  • A high level of interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills and a commitment to exceptional client service
