Are you an experienced Payroll and Benefits Manager looking for a new opportunity to make a difference? West Berkshire Council is seeking a skilled professional to join our Human Resources Service as the Payroll and Benefits Manager, reporting to the HR Service Lead. This is a key role within the organisation, responsible for the efficient and accurate management of payroll and employee benefits.As the Payroll and Benefits Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate payment of salaries and wages
  • Managing employee benefits, including pensions, insurance, and other statutory and voluntary schemes
  • Providing expert advice and guidance on payroll and benefits matters to managers and employees
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to continuously improve payroll and benefits processes

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Extensive experience in payroll management, including knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations
  • Strong understanding of employee benefits administration
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
