The Payroll and HR Specialist is a member of the People and Culture team at CARE Canada. Reporting to the Director, People and Culture, the Payroll and HR Administration Specialist will lead payroll and HRIS Administration for CARE Canada. The Payroll and HR Administration Specialist supports CARE Canada’s People & Culture strategy by playing a key role in positive employee experience, with a focus on positive employee experience.

The Payroll and HR Specialist will be responsible for leading payroll processes and HRIS administration for the organization. The HR and Payroll Specialist will also be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with managers and employees across the organization.

WHAT YOU OFFER / ABOUT YOU

 

  • Minimum of 3 years payroll experience
  • 3-5 years experience in an HR role, with demonstrated knowledge and understanding in all aspects of the HR function.
  • Knowledge of payroll systems such as Ceridian Dayforce or ADP
  • Understanding of Accounting principles
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Strong ability to meet deadlines;
  • Keen attention to detail
  • High level of professionalism including strict adherence to confidentiality;
  • Results-oriented focus; keen drive, and passion for delivering results
  • Strong customer service, negotiating, and conflict resolution skills required;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, empathy, ability to work under stress required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
  • Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines including recruitment, compensation practices, organizational analysis, diversity, performance management, and Ontario employment laws.
  • Results oriented and able to build trusted relationships
  • Strong working knowledge of current provincial Employment Standards legislation, Human Rights Legislation and employment regulations.
  • Superior verbal and written English communication skills.
  • MS Office (including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).

WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU EXTRAORDINARY

 

  • Previous experience working in an international NGO including work in development contexts
  • Strong working knowledge of the Ontario Employment Standards Act
  • Previous experience working with international clients
  • Experience using a Human Resources Information System
  • Experience using a Recruitment Management System

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Starting salary range between $75,000 – $80,000
