However, the current Victorian story is one that reflects today’s challenges for people living in remote and rural communities across the state. While we do still transport people by air and by road, this work is complemented by a range of primary health services that address the most common issues people living in country Victoria face when accessing health care.

The Service:
Sitting within People & Culture with a dedicated Payroll Manager, the RFDS payroll team is responsible for the provision of effective and efficient payroll processing and systems administration.
Payroll processes pay and entitlements for over 400 RFDS Victoria employees under a range of contracts with Awards and EBA’s underpinning rates of pay, allowances, deductions and other payroll information in line with relevant legislation.
The position:
Reporting to the Payroll Manager and working in Richmond with flexible hybrid work from home options, the position of Payroll Officer is responsible for effective payroll processing and systems administration.
Tasks and responsibilities include:
- Liaising with P&C re all new employees, contracts & Employee Bargaining Agreements and ensure employee’s information including rates of pay, allowances, deductions and other payroll information is up to date and accurate.
- Ensuring security, confidentiality and integrity of personnel information is maintained at all times. Proactively advise and support management and staff regarding Payroll policies and procedures.
- Ensuring accurate and timely payroll payments are made to employees in accordance with the relevant Awards, Agreements, legislation and policies.
- Ensuring payroll journals are accurate and produced within timeframe, and processing all Tax and Superannuation payments for each pay run.
- Ensuring compliance and keeping abreast of relevant legislation, such as ATO, FBT and WorkCover.
Skills, qualifications and experience required:
- Relevant tertiary qualification or suitable experience
- Competence and experience in the use of payroll packages, preferably Technology One payroll software, MS Office software (Excel) and other IT programs
- Experience with rostering systems, preferably EmpLive
- Demonstrated working knowledge of relevant Industrial Acts, Superannuation Guarantee Legislation, Awards and Agreements.
- Highly effective time management skills including the ability to plan, organise, multitask and work under pressure in a high-volume work environment.

Mandatory requirements:
In line with RFDS Victoria’s mandatory policies, all employees are required to undergo a National Police Clearance and have 3 * Covid vaccinations and annual influenza vaccination.
