Peacebuilding Specialist -Roving

Position Summary

Human Relief Foundation (HRF) is seeking a qualified Peacebuilding Specialist to support the design and implementation of peacebuilding and social cohesion programs. The role aims to contribute to conflict prevention, community dialogue, and peaceful coexistence in conflict-affected communities through context-sensitive and evidence-based interventions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and monitor peacebuilding and social cohesion activities in line with HRF project objectives.

• Conduct conflict analysis and regularly assess local conflict dynamics.

• Coordinate with community leaders, local authorities, and civil society organizations.

• Prepare work plans, progress reports, success stories, and technical documentation related to peacebuilding activities.

• Integrate conflict sensitivity and the Do No Harm approach across all project interventions.

• Work closely with program, MEAL, and communications teams to ensure quality implementation and learning.

• Represent HRF in coordination meetings, workshops, and peacebuilding-related forums.

• Ensure compliance with HRF policies, donor requirements, safeguarding, and ethical standards

• Bachelor’s degree in Peace Studies, Political Science, International Relations, Sociology, or a related field (Master’s degree is an asset).

• Minimum of 4–5 years of relevant experience in peacebuilding, social cohesion, conflict management, or humanitarian/development programming.

• Proven experience in community-based programming and field-level implementation.

• Strong understanding of local conflict dynamics and peacebuilding approaches.

• Excellent report writing and communication skills in English (Arabic is a strong asset).

• Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team, including under pressure.
