Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (Specialist)

Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, Department of Pediatrics, Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for an academic faculty position at the rank of Specialist. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will be engaged in a variety of clinical and academic practice, including an active Liver Transplant Program. The qualified candidate must have completed an accredited training program in physician assistant studies or nurse practitioner curriculum and must be eligible for an unrestricted Texas license as an advanced nurse practitioner or physician assistant.
The major criteria for appointment for clinical faculty is excellence in clinical care, scholarly activity, and service in the area the individual is expected to fulfill. The selected candidate will join a division of three (3) pediatric gastroenterologists, including a pediatric transplant hepatologist. The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition is family and team oriented. Besides the physicians, the selected candidate will work with clinic nurses, medical assistants, dietitians, and administrative staff. The selected candidate will work in clinics located at the Robert B. Green Campus, University Hospital, and at UT Health San Antonio’s Gateway Medical Park. Areas of clinical focus include pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, nutrition, and intestinal failure.
