Minimum Position Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and one year of appropriate experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Special Conditions The Gambling Clinic is particularly interested in individuals with a degree in psychology, social work, or a related field, who have at least one year prior work experience assisting others in achieving personal recovery goals related to gambling disorder, substance use disorder, or other addiction-related disorder; this may include experience gained through an instructional internship.A valid, state-issue driver’s license
Work Schedule Monday – Friday
8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
May need to work/travel beyond normal work schedule
The successful candidate will be located in the Nashville, TN area.

Working Conditions While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities · Knowledge of client-centered models of treatment and motivational styles of communication
· Knowledge of how to find and the effective use information given by informational databases, clinic staff, and clinic supervisors
· Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and comprehend instructions (whether written or verbal), correspondence, professional journals, and technical procedures
· Ability to compose correspondence, document effectively, present information and respond to questions in one-on-one and small group situations with clients, third parties, TGC staff whether in person, on the telephone, or virtually (e.g. Zoom)
· Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquires, complaints, or situations
· Ability to collect data, draw valid conclusions, use sound judgment, and problem solve
· Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with TGC staff and external organizations
· Ability to operate standard office equipment and software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office)
· Ability to listen to, and be responsive to supervision
· Ability to organize tasks and follow through on tasks assigned

Job Duties

Duties & Responsibilities Functions as a trusted confidant, role model, and mentor to assigned The Gambling Clinic clients with the objective of supporting treatment engagement and treatment adherence. This will involve weekly contact with individuals beginning at the clients first contact through end of treatment. Includes maintaining availability during working hours to provide support and assistance.
Duties & Responsibilities Facilitate ongoing aftercare support and monitoring of relapse prevention efforts. Teaches responsible gambling strategies, assists with self-exclusion process, helps clients develop essential living skills such as organization, time management, and increase financial literacy and financial planning.
Duties & Responsibilities Assists with community education and gambling-prevention efforts including but not limited to community talks, trainings, and supporting screening for gambling-related harm.
Duties & Responsibilities Coordinate with an interdisciplinary team that includes clinicians to develop, support, and follow up on clients’ individualized treatment plans. This will involve attending weekly meetings with supervising psychologist and weekly contact with therapists of assigned The Gambling Clinic Clients.
Duties & Responsibilities Maintain detailed records of client contact and all community outreach efforts.
Duties & Responsibilities Helps develop and expand recovery support services and lack of gambling-specific treatment options in the local community by identifying gaps in service, developing client-centered educational resources and website content, and assisting in outreach efforts
Duties & Responsibilities Engages in ongoing program and service evaluation to and corresponding tracking and evaluation of activities to ensure optimization of evidence-based service delivery
