The Opportunity

Are you a talented administrator interested in joining a values driven, not-for-profit organisation? Then this exciting opportunity within Burnet’s People team could be the role for you!

This position will provide administrative support across the People function and employment lifecycle. A key part of the role will be maintaining HR system updates and reporting and providing excellent customer service to our people. In this role, you will:

  • Manage the People inbox, responding to and triaging enquires to different team members.
  • Action contract variation reminders and letters and monitor contract extensions.
  • Support the recruitment function and action new appointment administration for new staff, students, and other roles.
  • Managing the onboarding, inductions, and offboarding process for employees.
  • Collate HR data for audits, external reports and as requested.
  • Manage administration of our People System (ActionHRM).
  • Conduct regular People reporting.
  • Support online travel and employee engagement platforms.
  • Review and maintain People information on the intranet and post People related content.
  • Manage compliance of employee working rights, police checks, and counter terrorism checks.

This is a full time, ongoing position. You will have flexible work hours and part time working from home options. This vacancy has risen due to an internal promotion which means that the previous incumbent will be here to train you and guide you through all aspects of the role at your own pace!

Let’s talk about you

The following criteria are essential requirements:

  • A minimum of one year experience working in a HR support role.
  • Previous experience in HR system administration with demonstrated ability to learn new systems.
  • Excellent HR customer service skills with the ability to action HR enquires/tasks in an efficient & effective manner.
  • Previous experience managing responsibilities that require a high level of attention to detail.

The following are desirable but not essential:

  • Advanced knowledge and experience in Microsoft Excel with ability to perform complex data manipulation, use a range of formulas e.g. Vlookup, and create pivot tables.
  • A Bachelor degree in HR or Business.
