We are seeking a dynamic People and Culture Business Partner with a robust background in Industrial Relations (IR) and a passion for Work Health and Safety who thrives on supporting all levels of our organisation to foster and manage our P&C brand within the broader organisational framework. Your enthusiasm, resilience and values driven behaviour will ensure we deliver a meaningful employee experience. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor, providing comprehensive generalist People and Culture support.
Additionally, we offer a job share opportunity for the People and Culture Business Partner role. Two individuals will alternate on a 3-day basis, each contributing unique strengths to ensure seamless continuity in fulfilling our people-related priorities.
The Role:
As our People and Culture Business Partner, you’ll play a crucial role in leading people-related priorities across two Business Units. Reporting directly to the Head of People and Culture, your responsibilities will include:
- Serving as a subject matter expert on Health, Safety, and Wellbeing, overseeing the development and implementation of strategies and action plans.
- Reviewing incidents, overseeing investigations, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Providing operational guidance and technical expertise on Health, Safety, and Wellbeing matters.
- Managing workers’ compensation and injury management risks and issues.
- Anticipating strategic workforce requirements, including workforce planning and succession planning.
- Resolving complex employee relations issues and conducting objective investigations.
- Maintaining knowledge of legal requirements and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Driving talent acquisition initiatives.
- Collaborating with colleagues to develop learning and development strategies.
- Analysing trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
- Providing guidance and coaching to people managers on performance management.
- Leading and contributing to organisational development and change projects.
- Building shared understanding of the organisation’s vision, values, and culture.
About you
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources Management or a related field.
- Extensive experience in Human Resources across diverse organisations, demonstrating a deep understanding of HR principles and practices.
- Proficiency in HR generalist functions, encompassing areas such as employee relations, learning and development, diversity and inclusion, health and safety, and compensation and benefits administration.
- Track record of successfully providing strategic consulting and business partnering support to senior leaders, driving organisational effectiveness and alignment.
- Specialised knowledge in Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), including the development and execution of comprehensive strategies.
- Proven expertise in project and change management, with a history of implementing initiatives to drive positive organisational outcomes.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, interpersonal, and diplomacy skills, enabling effective collaboration and relationship-building at all levels of the organisation.
- Strong internal coaching abilities, coupled with the capacity to work autonomously and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
- Exceptional critical evaluation and analytical skills, allowing for informed decision-making and problem-solving.
- Dedication to upholding best practices in areas such as child safety, employee health and wellbeing, diversity, equity, and inclusion, fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace culture.
