Fighting Chance is on the lookout for a HR Senior Business Partner to provide advice, coaching & support to our people managers along with assisting in the development and efficiencies of our HR operations.

You will have the opportunity to partner with enterprise leaders to introduce and embed key HR processes as well as develop people management capability. It is essential that you are up to date with your understanding of employment legislation, modern awards and contemporary HR practices. To be highly effective in this role, you will need to build strong working relationships with managers and employees across the Fighting Chance enterprises.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Based at our Frenchs Forest office and working within our People & Culture team, this role will provide high quality HR support and solutions.

In this broad role, we are looking for an experienced Senior HR professional who can build strong relationships with our Managers and employees to help them feel supported and empowered. Reporting to the General Manager your main responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with all Stakeholders.
  • Provide coaching and advice to Managers regarding team design, succession planning, employee & industrial relations and HR initiatives.
  • Mentor Managers to help them achieve team performance objectives.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all Industrial Relations matters within the workplace.
  • Develop HR policy and procedures.
  • Respond to HR inquiries from Managers and employees.
  • Assist with projects with and alongside the P&C team.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of Australian employment legislation (Fair Work Act and Modern and contemporary HR practices).
  • Ability to identify solutions to challenging problems that may arise
  • Critical thinking, problem solving and continuous improvement mindset
  • Dealing with workplace relations issues such as complaints, conflicts, grievances, and misconduct
  • Understanding and experience in performance management & resolution
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritise workload.

YOU WILL NEED:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and/or 5+ years recent experience in a human resources business partnering position or equivalent.
  • An understanding of (and/or experience with) NDIS and working with people with a disability, particularly in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) setting – Highly desirable.
  • Experience interpreting SCHADS and Labour Market Awards.
  • Possess or be willing to obtain a NDIS Worker Screening Check and a Working with Children Check.

REQUIRED TO:

  • Possess the right to work in Australia.
  • Possess or be willing to obtain a NDIS Worker Screening Check and a Working with Children Check.
  • Be willing to travel to Fighting Chance Hubs on occasion.
