The Role

The People & Development Advisor will provide a full scope of HR and learning support across Orange Sky. You will play a critical role in ensuring our people have an exceptional experience and a “Are Better for Being Orange”. Advising and coaching employees and managers on all HR processes you will form part of a dynamic team delivering on the People & Safety strategy.

No day is ever the same, so the ideal applicant will be confident in a fast paced and dynamic environment – we need someone who understands how to provide high level of HR advice and support, but also how to get creative to make things happen.

In a nutshell, this role is responsible for:

Employee Experience

  • Guide leaders and employees in employment law and adhering to awards.
  • Contribute to Orange Sky’s EVP strategy, drive end-to-end recruitment, optimise onboarding, manage exits, and use data for continual workplace improvement.
  • Be a cultural ambassador passionate about our impact and our culture through Orange Sky Person Characteristics.
  • Offer insights on best practices for an enhanced workplace experience.

HR Processes & Policy

  • Efficiently coordinate our HR Calendar, overseeing engagement surveys, performance reviews, and all cyclical activities.
  • Provide guidance on effectively managing People Incidents to achieve equitable outcomes, and navigate difficult conversations with success.
  • Manage employee & volunteer performance discussions, offering advice, coaching and
  • Develop and implement wellbeing policies, practices and initiatives for a workplace where people are “Better for Being Orange”.

General HR Advice & Support

  • Lead Development Planning processes, coaching on ‘Better for Being Orange’ principles.
  • Manage training delivery, including induction, leadership programs, and online learning.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain a training calendar and database.
  • Oversee design, development, and delivery of learning initiatives for volunteers and employees

Learning & Development

  • Lead engaging training sessions for volunteers and employees to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Develop engaging and interactive learning materials that capture learners’ attention and foster active participation. Incorporating multimedia elements, such as videos, animations, infographics, and interactive quizzes, to enhance comprehension and retention of key concepts.

We are looking for a minimum of 5 years experience working in HR and/or Learning role for a fast-paced and innovative organisation. Formal studies in Human Resources Management, Learning, Instructional design, or another related field are required.

  • Engaging facilitation skills and experience delivering Employee Development programs
  • Ability to use online learning development tools like Articulate, Rise and be familiar with Scorm compliant content and LMS’s.
  • Sound understanding of Awards and Workplace legislation.
  • Ability to use sound and accurate judgment, always maintain strict confidentiality and work ethically.
  • Superior organisational skills with a high degree of drive, initiative, outcome orientation and the capacity to deal with multiple and often conflicting priorities.
  • Personal commitment to improving knowledge and skills through professional development activities.
  • Ability to interact positively with management and all volunteers/employees.
  • Ability to prioritise own workload, work autonomously and utilize effective time management skills.
