Carnegie Mellon University is searching for a Personal Assistant to join their team. The candidate will assist a department head with physical tasks that arise during the workday. This position will also provide a wide variety of administrative support functions, as well as acting as a liaison with other university departments.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Providing personal assistance to facilitate a disabled person, retrieving items, and escorting to certain campus locations.

  • Picking up and delivering different items to and from various locations on campus.

  • Assisting with transporting supplies, materials, and computing equipment to lectures and meetings.

  • Assisting with the setup of computing equipment, disconnecting, and returning the equipment.

  • Provides administrative assistance such as coordinating meetings logistics and resources, maintaining calendars, and handling other documents for supervisor’s signature and/or approval.

  • Other duties as assigned.

You should demonstrate:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift, carry equipment and other heavy materials up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or GED required.

  • 1-3 years of administrative experience

Requirements:

  • Successful background check

  • Travel Requirements: You should be able to travel both domestically and internationally and be willing to work outside of normal business hours as needed.
