Australian Multicultural Community Services (AMCS) is a community organisation with over 40 years’ experience serving the multicultural community. We support seniors to live at home for as long as possible, by helping them to maintain their independence and connect with the community.
AMCS is currently looking for Support Workers living in or around the South-Eastern Suburbs (Whitehorse) and Western Suburbs of Melbourne.
As a Personal Care Worker, you will assist senior clients to maintain living at homes with a range of tasks including:
- Domestic Tasks- Laundry, cleaning, personal care etc.
- Travel needs- transporting to medical appointments, shopping etc.
- Companionship- offering companionship and support.
- Report Client Conditions- Reporting to the office about clients changes in conditions as required.
You will be supported with a Buddy shift to ensure you are comfortable and confident in your new role with AMCS. You will also have the support of the Senior Support Worker Officer.
What you’ll need:
- Completed or undertaking Cert III or IV – Individual Support, Aged Care, Home Care or Disability
- Current First Aid / CPR certificate
- Victoria Drivers Licence, Reliable Car, and Minimum 3rd Party Car Insurance
- Covid-19 Vaccination (First & Second Dose) or Valid Medical Exemption
- Consent to standard Police Check (Paid for by AMCS)
- Working rights to work in Australia.
- Second language highly regarded but not essential.
