Pharmacy Manager

 Manages the pharmacy, provides direct pharmacy services, and ensures compliance with all laws and regulations. Maintains appropriate inventory levels per budgetary guidelines and ensures equipment standards. Assists in outreach and marketing of pharmacy services.
Is responsible for operations and maintenance of the University Pharmacy.
Oversees the dispensing of prescriptions, maintains adequate inventory, staffing levels, and ensures pharmacy adheres with all state and federal regulatory requirements.
Supervises, develops, and evaluates staff.
Develops, updates, and implements policies and procedures, and ensures staff compliance.
Precepting of student pharmacists pharmacy interns.
Seek diverse perspectives and feedback to make sound decisions that are best fit for the patients, team and university community.
Collaborate with student health service on any student wellness initiatives.
Collaborate with and serve as key contact to the University Wellness and Connection HUB regarding aspects of vaccine storage and inventory management. Ensure HUB employees, students and staff adhere to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to pharmacy practice and student learning. Ensure adherence to applicable University Pharmacy policies. Collaborate on training for new services and orientation of new employees and students.
Manager of University Pharmacy overseeing all aspects of pharmacy operations.
Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and all other applicable laws concerning the practice of pharmacy without error.
Ensure all employees are following all required licensing and credential requirements.
Act as licensee and maintain state pharmacy license.
Maintain the pharmacy’s federal controlled substance license.
Audits and maintains accurate records for all controlled substances.
Oversee staff and scheduling.
Act as pharmacy medication safety and privacy officer.
Create, review, and revise operational policies as needed.
Maintain adequate inventory of drugs and vaccinations in a fiscally responsible manner within budgetary guidelines.
Schedules and oversees annual inventory in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Oversee daily transactions and deposits and maintain proper records.
Oversee the billing and contracting with 3rd parties.
Review remittance reports and invoices to ensure medications and vaccinations are billed and paid for accurately.
Ensure adequate maintenance of equipment, software, and supplies necessary for the practice of pharmacy.
Maintain valid Pennsylvania pharmacist license in good standing with the state board of pharmacy.
Review and revise pharmacy policies and procedures annually.
Conduct annual inventory and budget forecast.
Confirm daily transactions and deposits.
Reconcile 3rd party pharmacy claims.
Comply with HIPAA.
Ensure the pharmacy is adequately staffed.
Maintain academic requirements set forth by the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy.

Essential Functions Manages pharmacy including, but not limited to:
• Ensures compliance with all laws and regulations
• Acts as a licensee for pharmacy permit; acts as licensee for controlled substances license
• Ensures safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy services
• Provides direct pharmacy services
• Prepares and dispenses prescription and non-prescription drugs
• Counsels patients and medical professionals on pharmacy-related matters
• Develops policies and procedures for efficiency, and all other aspects of pharmacy-related tasks
• Supervises staff, including hiring, training, performance reviews, documenting disciplinary actions, and other human resource administration. Manages work schedules and approves timecards. Provides professional development opportunities. Distributes and reviews work.
• Maintains adequate inventory levels within given budget guidelines; maintains and revises purchasing policies as needed
• Ensures adequate maintenance and standards of equipment
• Controls cash, cash deposits, and petty cash
• Assists in outreach, marketing, and promotion of pharmacy services.

Physical Effort Standing and walking through much of the day.
Needs to be able to lift and move supplies.
