This is an exciting time to join us as we are in the process of successfully deploying EMIS Electronic Prescribing Medicines Administration (EPMA) system.We are looking for an experienced, ambitious and forward-thinking individual who has experience in hospital pharmacy to help shape and drive patient care and innovation across mental health services.You will support the delivery of clinical pharmacy service provision across hospital and community services ensuring that clinical service provision is optimised. You will ideally have postgraduate qualifications or experience in mental health therapeutics.It is expected that the successful applicant will be an experienced clinical pharmacist with a substantial track record of providing or supporting service transformation.Main duties of the job

  • Manage band 8a pharmacists across the corporate team, to deliver clinical services and medicines optimisation, including audit and monitoring.
  • The post holder will assist with partnership working with community, hospital pharmacy and primary care networks to help utilise skill mix, improve patient outcomes, ensure better access to healthcare and help manage workload.
  • Monitor, analyse, interpret and provide advice on medicines related data, clinical audit and incident reports e.g. ePACT data etc, and arrange for cascade to managers and staff as appropriate.
  • Support services to fulfil the medicines optimisation requirements of the Care Quality Commission (CQC), including developing and reviewing standard operating procedures (SOPs), medicine guidelines / protocols and clinical guidelines, in conjunction with the Governance & Community Pharmacist.
  • Work with the Deputy Director of Pharmacy & Medicines Optimisation – Mental Health, to develop the service’s annual business plan, training plan and leads and supports medium-long term planning in order to meet financial or performance targets, e.g. CIP and national standards.
  • Responsible for systems to ensure the safe and legal handling of medicines.
  • Works closely with direct reports to provide robust systems and processes to influence evidence-based and best-value prescribing.
