Offer Description

To carry out a doctoral thesis in the framework of a research and transfer project that combines forces from academia and industry. The hired person will work on the development of algorithms for the scheduling of manufacturing orders taking into account the electricity costs. The algorithms will address a daily analysis to schedule the orders for the following working slot and a real-time analysis for the re-schedule of orders in front of unexpected events during manufacturing. In both analysis scales, artificial intelligence methods will be used for the forecasts of input data and optimisation methods for the scheduling. Real case studies of industries will be used to develop and test the algorithm, and it will integrated as a new future in an already commerciable software.
