About the position

Molde university college has a strong research environment in offshore logistics and within energy logistics. We are now looking for a PhD-candidate to further develop our research within offshore wind logistics.

Offshore energy production plays a vital role in meeting the increasing demand for electricity, diversifying our energy mix, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and supporting the growth of communities by creating jobs and stimulating local economies. It provides a reliable source of energy, reduces our dependence on fossil fuels, and helps us to achieve our climate goals, making it an essential component of our energy strategy. Offshore wind logistics is critical for the successful construction, installation, and maintenance of offshore wind farms, ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of components, personnel, and equipment. It plays a crucial role in enabling the growth of the offshore wind industry, allowing us to harness the full potential of this abundant and renewable energy source.

As a PhD candidate, you would be expected to contribute to the research within this emerging field in close cooperation with our research group and the industry.

The field offers a variety of potential research topics, quantitative as well as qualitative, including (but not limited to):
