Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. 


Job Summary
 

Performs venipuncture to obtain blood samples. Conducts oral glucose tolerance test that requires the insertion of a catheter for repeated blood collection over two (2) hours in pregnant women.

** This position is considered limited-term staff since it utilizes contingent funding. Continued employment is contingent upon availability of grant funding for this position.


Responsibilities
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conducts oral glucose tolerance test on research subjects
2. Obtains and processes blood samples according to laboratory procedures and in compliance with the IRB (Institutional Review Board)
3. Works with faculty, staff, and student research assistants in the Exercise Physiology Laboratory and/or Exercise Biomarkers Laboratory
4. Completes and maintains all compliance-related training


Required Qualifications
 

Educational Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
Required Experience
At least six (6) months experience working with blood draws. Proficient with insertion of antecubital catheter for repeated blood draws.


Preferred Qualifications
 

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Phlebotomist certification
Proficiency with insertion of antecubital catheter placement for repeated blood draws.

Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one-time meeting assigned deadlines
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge and understanding of Institutional Review Board
SKILLS
Proficiency in antecubital catheter placement and blood processing
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem-solving, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
