Background to the People in Need (PIN)

 

Background:

People in Need (PIN) is an international, non-profit organization providing humanitarian and development assistance in over 20 countries worldwide. Formed in 1992 in the Czech Republic, PIN has grown to be the biggest organization of its kind in post-communist Europe, providing relief where it is needed, and empowering civil society at home and abroad.

PIN is maintaining a strong presence in Iraq, and has gradually extended its activities across the Governorates of Ninewa, Salah Al-din, Kirkuk and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Typical recipients of our aid are internally displaced persons, returnees, and people who survived the fighting near their homes and meet the pre-defined criteria of vulnerability.

Apart from humanitarian aid, PIN is currently working on long-term programmes supporting restoring livelihoods, education, access to water and hygiene. These programmes should facilitate people´s return to their original homes and support the stabilization process after the defeat and removal of IS.

General Description of Scope of Service:

PIN is implementing a UNDP funded project working on Employment Promotion through Skills Development and Vocational Training in Kirkuk Governorate. The PIN cooperation with UNDP in Iraq provides support to vulnerable groups in Iraq will training 200 beneficiaries, including youth and women, to enhance their skills. This is achieved through offering tailored vocational training programs in Kirkuk Governorate.

Trainer is required for Air Conditioning and Refrigeration workshop during the project implementation

 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct vocational training in photography and advertising workshop for participants.
  • Facilitate practical exercises for capturing images, editing photos, and creating advertising content.
  • Teach techniques for various photography styles and advertising strategies.
  • Train participants in developing effective advertising campaigns and understanding market trends.
  • Deliver lessons clearly and structurally, using diverse teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
  • Organize and manage the practical aspects of workshops, including pre-organizing the venue.
  • Provide hands-on demonstrations and practical exercises to reinforce theoretical concepts and build skills in photography and advertising.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions to Vocational Training Expert and TVET center to improve workshop effectiveness.
  • Maintain positive coordination and relationships with partners and other sector staff.
  • Oversee the use and management of all training materials, tools, and equipment in the workshop.
  • Facilitate engaging and participatory training sessions tailored to the diverse needs and backgrounds of participants.

 Timeline:

The training timeframe is  60 days, with 7 hours allocated per day.

 

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school or diploma or relevant field; further education in photography or advertising is a plus.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a similar position, with a strong background in delivering photography and advertising training.
  • Proficient in various photography techniques and advertising strategies, acquired through workshops or training.
  • Experience working with diverse and multicultural communities, with the ability to tailor training to varied backgrounds.
  • Ability to plan and work in a fast-paced and -changing context with flexibility to change plans and methods to suit changing needs and circumstances as required.
  • Fluency in Arabic and basic knowledge of Kurdish and Turkmen
  • Strong experience in delivering training sessions.
  • Excellent and innovative skills in capacity building.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment and flexible with revising plans, as and when needed.
  • Ability to lead and communicate effectively with team members.
