Who are we?

Established in 1991, Danila Dilba Health Service (DDHS) is an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation committed to providing culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care services and community development within the Biluru (Aboriginal) community of the Yilli Rreung (Greater Darwin) Region in the Northern Territory.

We work to address the social determinants of health including the broader issues that affect our people’s health, through evidence-based research and public advocacy. We also work to empower individuals, families and communities to optimise their health.

About the role

The Physiotherapist will provide a culturally appropriate therapy service including assessment, treatment, and evaluation of clients and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support the care and developmental needs of Aboriginal clients in the NT.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a contemporary, evidence-based Physiotherapist service, including assessment, treatment, planning and evaluation for people presenting with a wide range of conditions.
  • Complete and participate in regular formal and informal performance feedback and improvement sessions.
  • Effectively communicate with a multidisciplinary team including clients and external service providers to ensure external stakeholder services to clients.
  • Identify and make recommendations on opportunities to improve processes, quality, and service delivery outcomes.

To be successful you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy.
  • A Current registration with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • A minimum of 2 years working experience with Adult Case Load.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of varied Physiotherapy methods of assessment, treatment, and evaluation.
  • High level oral and written communication skills, ability to manage a clinical case load and time effectively.
  • Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality and a high level of accuracy.
  • Proven teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to constructively negotiate outcomes with a diverse range of people and service providers.
  • High level of personal resilience and flexibility with the ability to deal with challenging situations.

Desirable

  • Experience working in an Aboriginal Medical Service.
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team.

What we offer

  • 6 weeks annual leave (pro rata) per annum.
  • Salary packaging of up to $15,990 per annum.
