  • Part-time 28 hours per week – Hours of work negotiable.
  • Band 7 Salary range – $46.57 – $51.56 per hour, plus superannuation.

The Role:

In this role you will work with community members and stakeholders to successfully implement programs, services and major reforms that promote access and participation for families and children. Particularly, young children and those with vulnerable backgrounds. 

This role will also lead initiatives across the Family, Youth and Children’s Services unit to continuously build and improve shared approaches to working that enhance service cohesion, connectivity and consistency that enhances the value and quality of services delivered for children and young people – with a particular focus on kindergarten and the early years. 

What does my new role entail?

As part of your new role, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the planning, development, and implementation of a range of projects in response to key departmental and organisational priorities and as outlined in the Council Plan, and priorities outlined in the Municipal Early Years Plan, Youth Strategy and Community Infrastructure Plan.
  • Negotiating and managing contracts with licensees and planning relating to early years reforms.
  • Leading the implementation of the Central Kindergarten Registration Scheme (CKR) for the City of Ballarat, in line with funding requirements.
  • Undertaking and completing project management objectives within resourcing, timelines, budget and reporting parameters.
  • Establishing and maintaining partnerships with relevant internal and external stakeholders including State and Federal Government departments and agencies in relation to the delivery of family, youth and children’s services.
  • Undertaking research and analysis and provide strategic advice on emerging issues that affect community, children and young people.
  • Providing advice and guidance in the form of written reports, presentations and verbal advice to Council, the organisation and external stakeholders on emerging issues related to service delivery and access and participation in services to support successful transitions.
