The Togo-UNICEF cooperation program (2019-2023) is part of the 2018-2022 National Development Plan, aligned with the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and contributes to the achievement of the results of the United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) 2019-2023.
It includes a total of five outcomes, including four sectoral and one internal to UNICEF, in line with UNICEF’s 2018-2021 strategic plan: Child survival, Education and Development, Child Protection, Social Inclusion, and Program efficiency. The Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist
In addition, Togo starts its “Country Programme Document” (CPD) 2024 – 2026. At the same time, Togo is facing the spillover of the Sahel crisis, particularly in the Savanes region of northern Togo with an impact of increasing the vulnerability of children and women already weakened by the COVID-19 crisis. To that end, UNICEF is stepping up its interventions in the Savanes region to support the Government’s efforts.
How can you make a difference?
Under the supervision of the Deputy Representative – Programme, the Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation (PME) Specialist will provide technical PME expertise to ensure all activities are carried out according to schedule that results, recommendations are implemented and followed up. He/She will liaise with senior Government officials in the area of strategic planning and regular reviews of UNICEF’s Country Programme, provide technical advice and quality assurance in the area of data analysis and programme monitoring, support the implementation of evaluations as well as capacity building of the Country Office, including Field Offices, in planning, monitoring and evaluation.
