Job description
- Work Type: Two-year contract, full-time position (0.8 FTE may be considered)
- Level 5.1 – 5.5 – $94,733 – $108,784
The Victorian Council of Social Service (VCOSS) has an exciting opportunity for a Policy Advisor to join our high-impact Policy and Advocacy team.
This position will drive policy, engagement and advocacy in VCOSS’ housing and justice portfolios.
The incumbent will work on some of Victoria’s most urgent policy challenges – for example, the community sector’s efforts to end homelessness, increase fairness in the private rental market, break the link between disadvantage and corrections, and end the over-representation of particular groups of children and young people in the justice system.
We are looking for a Policy Advisor with experience in social policy areas relevant to VCOSS’s work. While policy or research experience or knowledge in housing or justice is welcome, it is not essential.
VCOSS values and embraces differences in gender, age, ethnicity, race, cultural background, disability, religion and sexual orientation. People from unique or diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply for this position. Please advise if you require specific support to apply and we will work with you to identify the best way forward.
