Who we are

EDFI (https://www.edfi.eu/) is the Association of European Development Finance Institutions. EDFI represents 15 development banks and investment funds backed by European governments to promote sustainable investment in the private sector in emerging and frontier markets.

EDFI’s members have invested over €100 billion in more than 15,000 projects in developing countries outside the EU. The mission of EDFI is to promote members’ professional networks, inform policy, and drive innovation in industry standards. EDFI also manages facilities that promote financial cooperation among European DFIs and the EU institutions.

The EDFI offices are located in Brussels.

Your mission:

The Policy and Data Analyst will contribute to EDFI’s policy, knowledge, and collaboration initiatives. The role involves delivering strong fact-based analysis of data and policy issues, supporting collaboration among European DFIs, and coordinating with EDFI’s partners, including the European Union.

Key responsibilities:

Support joint EDFI representation and engagement with partners (including EU institutions) by preparing materials, briefings, and coordinating input from members.

Ensure access to quality data for EDFI by leading the production of EDFI papers and publications, such as the Comparative Analysis. This includes data collection, validation, processing, analysis, presentation, and drafting.

Facilitate collaboration among EDFI members by coordinating working groups, preparing draft documents, supporting approval processes, and managing individual deliverables.

Conduct research and write reports to support EDFI’s analytical work.

Assist in various EDFI initiatives at an international level by preparing work plans, coordinating meetings, and drafting minutes and written outputs.

Required skills and experience:

The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, some exposure to impact investing and/or international cooperation, and the following qualifications:

University degree in economics, finance, public policy, political science, law, or a related field with a strong academic record.

Strong quantitative analysis and business writing skills, advanced Excel skills, and prior experience with data analysis are strong assets.

Knowledge of development finance and experience with an International Financial Institution/Development Finance Institution and/or European institutions is advantageous.

Excellent planning and organization skills, with strong attention to detail.

Ability to manage complex tasks, prioritize demands, and meet deadlines.

A team player capable of working in a multicultural environment.

Languages: Fluency in English is required; other European languages are an advantage.
