About the Role

This exciting opportunity will see the Policy Officer Supply Chain work closely with our industry partners and policy leaders within the CEC to inform the research, development, communication and advocacy of industry policies that will enable the cultivation of diverse, reliable and socially responsible renewable energy supply chains across Australia.

The role will provide strategic insight and advice on renewable energy supply chain matters, including opportunities, risks and barriers associated with local manufacturing, environmental pressures, social issues and corporate governance concerns, and will support the development and implementation of specific advocacy projects and campaign strategies across the portfolio to strengthen the renewable energy supply chain.

Specific to the role will be the preparation and distribution of regulatory updates as well as the production of content for reports, briefing papers, submissions, press releases, social media updates and material for various CEC and industry events.

Additionally, the role will connect with stakeholders through attendance at various events and technical forums and lead relevant committees and working groups across the supply chain portfolio, which will include scheduling and convening meetings and managing relevant meeting content.

About You

You will have experience in a policy role or similar in either government, industry or civil society with commercial acumen and some understanding of the strategic issues impacting Australia’s renewable energy supply chains. You will be tertiary qualified, and your background experience, intellectual approach, curious nature, and resourcefulness will enable you to successfully navigate complex government policy and frameworks that support the transformation of the renewable energy supply chain. Previous experience leading and influencing consultative committees and other key stakeholders will be critical to this role.

You will have excellent communication skills with the demonstrated ability to prepare and present logical, succinct material and strong time management skills with the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment.

You will also have strong conceptual and analytical skills with the ability to grasp complex concepts comfortably.
