  • To provide operational support for the Commercial Regulatory Team with a focus on duties related to imported food control
  • To provide operational support for export health certification for products of animal origin
  • To work as part of a team to deliver the operational activities as detailed in relevant service plans and Councils outcome framework
  • To offer advice, inspect consignments and complete import/export documentation

Your RoleWe have a unique opportunity to appoint two Port Health Support Officers to join our busy Commercial Regulatory Team. We are looking for enthusiastic team workers who will have the opportunity to influence an evolving service and is committed, flexible, capable of working on their own initiative and able to meet targets.You should have at least one Level 1 qualification. Experience with computerised record systems including the normal office applications is desirable. A current valid driving licence and the use of a car are essential.Port Health Support Officers play a vital role in protecting public health by implementing regulations and guidelines set forth by government agencies. They must have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Additionally, they must stay up to date on current legislation and changes to imported product categories and be prepared to respond quickly to emerging changes.About YouThe right candidate will be part of the Port Health Team, where Management and Team Leaders work continuously to develop both short- and long-term plans for delivering specific operational activities within the port health structure and ensure continuous improvement for service users.We are looking for a first-class communicator who is keen to learn, has an enquiring mind, an ability to build relationships with people at all levels and is IT, maths, and English literate.If you have an enthusiastic interest in engagement with staff and have a desire to listen to and work with all stakeholders to bring positive change in our ever-changing landscape, then we would be delighted to hear from you.Think you have what it takes to join a fast paced and diverse team?
