Job Description

NIB has some 240 employees, and the outstanding lending portfolio amounts to some EUR 22 billion. The liquidity buffer portfolio amounts to EUR 14 billion, and the total balance sheet is approx. EUR 40 billion. The Bank has the highest possible credit rating, AAA/Aaa, from the leading rating agencies. NIB has its headquarters in Helsinki, Finland and the working language of the Bank is English.
Portfolio Manager:
  • NIB is now seeking a Portfolio Manager to join the Asset and Liability Management (ALM) team in the Treasury & Finance department. The ALM team consists of the Head of unit and three full-time employees. The position is based at the Bank’s headquarters in Helsinki.
  • The ALM team is responsible for funds transfer pricing and for supporting lending on hedging, disbursements and prepayment situations. Additionally, the ALM team is responsible for managing NIB’s market risks on the balance sheet and investing the short end of the liquidity buffer.
  • As a Portfolio Manager, together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing the funds transfer pricing framework towards the lending function as well as creating tools and analysis to manage mismatches in the balance sheet. You will also be responsible for dealing in cash and derivative instruments to manage the liquidity position and market risks of the Bank.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Experience in working with funds transfer pricing principles and pricing of liquidity to manage balance sheet mismatches
  • Strong product knowledge in financial instruments such as interest rate swaps, cross currency swaps, foreign exchange, and money market instruments
  • A background in banking
  • An analytical mindset and capability of developing new tools together with the team
  • Understanding of liquidity and balance sheet management
  • A creative and innovative thinking
  • A purpose-driven approach with a good understanding of sustainability matters
  • A master’s degree in finance, economics, or a similar field
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python in an advantage
  • Excellent language skills in English are required, and skills in member countries languages will be highly meriting.
