Offer Description

The post-doctoral fellow (M/F) will carry out research within the CATREN and C’DURABLE teams of IRCELYON, and will be in charge of the design and implementation of experiments, spectral processing, theoretical calculations and interpretations, in order to characterize and model carbene transfer catalysts based on metal phthalocyanines (Fe, Ru), in the context of the ANR REACTPHTHAL project, 2024-2026.

• Participation in the design and synthesis of catalysts
• Design and implementation of XAS operando cells for characterization of reactive intermediate species
• Performing electrochemical experiments, acquisition of RPE spectra
• Data processing and interpretations of XAS operando observations
• Simulation of reaction mechanisms (transition states) as well as XAS & RPE spectra using theoretical DFT calculations
• Data processing and interpretation
• Discussion and modeling of the processes involved
• Presentation of results at conferences, writing of articles

Eligibility criteria

• Recent PhD in catalysis with strong involvement in XAS spectroscopy
• Experimental skills in electrochemistry, RPE spectroscopy, mass spectrometry
• DFT theoretical calculation skills
• Chemometric skills (PCA, MCR-ALS, etc.)
• Good knowledge of organic chemistry, coordination chemistry and catalysis
• Fluency in English, for scientific interactions, presentations and writing
• Ability to work in a team on multidisciplinary projects
