Job Description Summary:
This is a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric headache research. The Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Kansas Medical Center is an interdisciplinary university division with a focus on clinical care, training, community outreach, and research.

Required Qualifications
Education: Doctoral degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent) in pediatric psychology, clinical child psychology, pediatric primary care, pediatric neurology, or related field. All requirements for the doctoral degree must be completed prior to starting the postdoctoral fellowship.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: PhD, MD, or equivalent in pediatric psychology, clinical child psychology, pediatric primary care, pediatric neurology, or other field relevant to pediatric headache research.
Work Experience: Prior clinical research experience in behavioral health, pediatric health, headache, or pain management.
Skills: Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with interdisciplinary research teams.
Job Duties
Research Overview: The postdoctoral fellow will receive experience and training in conducting research in pediatric headache assessment and intervention under the mentorship of Dr. Emily Law.

The postdoctoral fellow will contribute to ongoing research studies in digital health interventions, sleep health and migraine, and headache management in pediatric primary care.

The postdoctoral fellow will have the opportunity to develop and complete independent projects.
Postdoc Expectations: The Postdoc will be expected to complete research projects under the guidance of the faculty mentor, record and interpret the results of their experiments in an (electronic) laboratory notebook, prepare publication-quality manuscripts (including figures and tables) and publish in peer-reviewed literature.

Read literature articles, develop new ideas, and assimilate the information into his/her project design/interpretation.

Dissemination of studies: Interact on a regular basis with their faculty mentor and members of the laboratory to discuss experimental design and interpretation of results.

Present research aims and findings at department seminars and at local and national scientific meetings. Write and publish their results as first author in abstracts, manuscripts, and posters.
Compliance: Attend and maintain compliance on all orientation and training sessions designated by the University, Pediatrics Department, understand and follow IACUC and biosafety protocols, and attend departmental seminars and regular lab meetings.

Perform other duties assigned by PI and faculty mentor.

Assist with the development grant writing, manuscript preparation, data analysis, and mentoring and supervising students under the guidance of the PI and faculty mentor.

Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
