Offer Description

The astroparticle physics group at the State University of Campinas’s Gleb Wataghin Institute of Physics (IFGW-UNICAMP) in Brazil invites applications for a postdoc position in astroparticle physics, with a focus on the science scope of the Pierre Auger Observatory. The main subjects of interest are astrophysical analyses related to source distribution, types of particles, and acceleration mechanisms in the source.

Requirements:

– Ph.D. in physics, astronomy (or equivalent) defended in the last seven years;
– Active role in the astroparticle physics international scenario;
– Working experience with modern software tools;
– Outstanding teamwork abilities;
– Excellent communication skills and good knowledge of English.

Conditions: The fellowship is offered by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) within the Thematic Project for 24 months, with a possible extension depending on approval. It includes a monthly stipend (R$9.047,40) and contingency funds (10% of the stipend) to grant research activities.
