Job description

• Synthesis, development and electrochemical testing of solid electrolytes and electrode materials for novel chloride ion batteries (CIBs)
• Experiment planning as well as comprehensive chemical, structural and electro­chemical characterization of the cells using, among other things, XRD, Raman, CV, EIS and GITT
• Documentation and publication of research results in relevant scientific journals, as well as presentation at national and international conferences
• Preparation of scientific funding applications
• Supervision of students and doctoral candidates
• The workplace is in Ulm

Personal qualification

• You have completed a university degree (Master) with a doctorate in chemistry, materials science or a related field.
• Several years of professional experience in the field of electrochemical energy storage, particularly in the development and characterization of solid electro­lytes, are required.
• You also have experience in inorganic synthesis, material analysis using SEM/EDX, XPS as well as FT-IR and NMR spectroscopy.
• Experience in acquiring third-party funding is desirable
• Ideally you have experience with different battery architectures and material classes.
• Commitment to independent research is expressly welcomed.
• Your requirements profile is rounded off by very good written and spoken English skills.
