We are looking for a highly motivated postdocto provide experimental, scientific and operational support to the Cvejic Labwith the commence 1 May 2024 or soon thereafter.

Our research
We are a team of highly skilled researchers collaborating with international partners from industry and other universities to perform exciting interdisciplinary science using cutting-edge experimental and computational technologies.
The research in our group can be broadly divided into two main areas:
In our translational research projects, we use various state-of-the-art single cell sequencing techniques to analyse cancer patient samples, investigating the influence of the tumour microenvironment in the context of pathological differentiation of immune cells.
Our basic research projects using human foetal haematopoietic cells aim to dissect dynamics and cellular programmes active during human blood lineage development and to decipher how haematopoietic differentiation pathways are influenced by different microenvironments.
Your job
You will have a strong scientific background in cancer biology and immunology and you will be able to demonstrate critical thinking within and beyond these areas. You will be hard working, passionate about science, and keen to learn and improve skills in the area of single-cell and spatial transcriptomics within a supportive research environment. You will be involved in processing and investigating samples from patients with colorectal cancer for a project that will yield essential data regarding the dynamic changes that occur in response to therapy, aiming to identify novel therapeutic targets. Here, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team using cutting-edge technologies and will be tasked with proactively seeking and maintaining appropriate collaborations. You will be expected to contribute to and support the ongoing research projects in the group on an ad-hoc basis when needed, working closely with biologists, clinicians and bioinformaticians within and outside the group to accomplish scientific objectives; disseminate your expertise to new lab members, write progress reports and support the lab management.
Profile
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic postdoc with the following competencies and experience:
Essential experience and skills
- A PhD in life sciences or related
- Extensive experience in cancer biology and immunology
- Extensive experience in molecular and cell biology techniques
- Extensive experience in flow cytometry and cell culture
- An excellent research and publication track record
- Highly organised
- Ability Excellent ability to effectively prioritise, multi-task and work independently
- Good English skills, written and spoken
Desirable experience and skills
- Experience in working with patient-derived material
- Experience in single cell genomics techniques (RNA-Seq, Multiomics)
- Experience in tissue dissection and histology
- Experience in gene editing by CRISPR-Cas9
Place of employment
The place of employment is at the Biotech Research &Innovation Centre (BRIC), University of Copenhagen. Terms of employment
The average weekly working hours are 37 hours per week.
The position is a fixed-term position limited to a period of 3 years. The starting date is the 1 May 2024 or soon thereafter.
Salary, pension and other conditions of employment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant organisation. Currently, the monthly salary starts at 36,410 DKK/approx. 4,880 EUR (October 2023 level). Depending on qualifications, a supplement may be negotiated. The employer will pay an additional 17.1 % to your pension fund.
Foreign and Danish applicants may be eligible for tax reductions if they hold a PhD degree and have not lived in Denmark the last 10 years.
The position is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities 2020.
