Offer Description
This position is available to candidates interested in pursuing a research and academic career at the University of Nova Gorica . We offer the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment supported by state-of-the-art research equipment and a strong involvement in international research.
Research activities will take place at the Laboratory of organic matter physics .
The selected candidate will join our team and experimentally investigate the electro-optical properties of 2D heterostructures and organic semiconductors. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing advanced techniques for characterizing electrical properties of these hybrid heterostructures, as well as for designing and conducting experiments to gain deeper insights into their behaviour.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solid state physics, will know how to prepare 2D heterostructures including organic semiconductors and will master electrical characterization of novel electronic components including organic thin film transistors.
In accordance with their appointment, the successful candidate will also take on teaching duties on selected study programmes at the University, School of science .
The position will be available as soon as the selection process is completed. The contract is for full-time working hours over a fixed term of 12 months.
Candidates are expected to:
- PhD in natural sciences from the field of solid state physics or materials research
- requirements for election to the title of assistant at the University of Nova Gorica,
- experience in experimental research laboratory including lithography, electrical characterization of devices and mechanical exfoliation of 2D materials
- have good command of the English language.
