The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and self-driven postdoctoral research fellow to advance fundamental research and technology innovation in the field of computational biophysics. This role specifically involves molecular modeling and simulations focused on antibody therapeutics. The ideal candidate will possess a strong motivation to contribute to the development of cutting-edge physics-based and machine-learning techniques to better understand physiochemical stability and developability of complex molecular formats and protein drug products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement advanced physics-based and machine-learning techniques for practical molecular modeling and simulations of complex biomolecular systems

  • Investigate the mechanistic aspects of the physiochemical stability of protein drug products.

  • Integrate basic and applied science, bridging computational modeling with various biophysical experimental techniques.

  • Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams in Pharmaceutical Technical Development (PTD) and Genentech Early Research and Development (gRED) departments.

  • Present and publish research findings to both internal and external scientific communities.

Requirements:

  • Recent Ph.D. graduate in physics, chemistry, materials science, bioinformatics, computational science, or a related discipline.

  • Strong understanding of Molecular Dynamics simulations and statistical mechanics fundamentals.

  • Proficiency in at least one commonly used molecular simulation package such as AMBER, LAMMPS, GROMACS, NAMD, Rosetta, MOE, Schrodinger, Docking tools, and structural rendering tools.

  • Familiarity with high-performance scientific computing and proficiency in at least one modern computer programming language such as Python, Bash scripting, or C.

  • Experience with geometric deep learning is a plus.
